General counsel for the Anheuser Busch Brewing Company recently called at the White House and protested against competition of real beer from Canada which he claimed has wiped out the market for legitimate near-beer.

This is mostly Busch publicity engineered by some of the shrewdest publicity men in America. But there is an argument in it against light beer and wine. Unless the light beer the wets desire legalized is intoxicating it cannot compete with the Canadian beer according to the Busch idea. If it is intoxicating it cannot be sold legally under the 18th Amendment which will not be repealed. So there.
