New York Editor Predicts Rapid Decline of C.I.O.
NEW YORK, July 24. (UP)—Col. Robert R. McCormick, editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune, today predicted the decline of the Committee for Industrial Organization.
Sailing on the Europa, Colonel McCormick said:
"The C. I. O. is on the way out because it's not civilized. I'm for trade unions. They take away from the working man the feeling that he's not getting a square deal.
"But when labor starts sitting down on other people's property, blowing up things and battling the police and running them out of town you can't call that civilized."
