North Central Baptist Church In New Home
A group of dedicated Christians met Tuesday evening, May 28th and formally organized the North Central Baptist church. This new congregation has finally located in its own building, a converted and remodeled residence at 458 Rondo.
This congregation is ably led by the very popular and well known Pastor Leroy Gardner.
One refreshing feature of this congregation is that it is a truly integrated group; demonstrating Pastor Gardner that people of different races can and should live, work, and worship together.
Pastor Gardner says: "In the Lord Jesus Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek: the Lord Jesus has abolished all barriers, hatred, jealousy, variance, pride, and race distinction - that tend to separate His children."
Another wholesome and refreshing feature is that no offering is taken during the service. No financial appeals whatever are made. Pastor Gardner has this to say, "The love and providence of God is not lacking that the church of Jesus should beg for pittance from the world. Our Father is rich in houses and land. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, the wealth in every mine. He does not need us but we need Him."
He further adds, "As long as I am pastor of this church there will never be a financial rally, there will never be a raffle or a bingo game, or as little as a sandwich sold, for the Lord Jesus says: 'Make not my house a house of merchandise.'"
