Full Text
THE opponents of the present government of this state, have already nominated their candidates for Governor and Lieut. Governor, the ensuing year, and are united in supporting their former unsuccessful list for Senators of this county.
It is remembered, that the Federal Republicans did not last April agree on their candidates, until a fortnight before the election, by which many votes were lost.
The citizens of this county will generally support their old, and well tried friend, Woodbury Storer, Esq. but those from this town are not resolved whom to hold up as the other. The times call loudly for
UNION
It is understood that our other present worthy Senator, Mr. Cushing, intends to be a candidate at the next election. In which case we presume the federal yeomanry of Cumberland, will unite to a man, and again give a handsome majority to the hon. JOHN CUSHING and WOODBURY STORER.
Esqrs. who have proved themselves so worthy the people's confidence.
