to Federalism looking up. "The federalists are continually boasting of an increase of their party. It is true, in the state of Connecticut, at their last election, they increased astonishingly ! ! 8 votes more were given for Gov. Trumbull than were given at a prior election ; and 553 for the republican candidate more than he ever before received. So much for the increase of federalism in Connecticut.. Thus in six months has it, in that state of steady habits, advanced more than 500 steps backwards ! ! The faction will have it that their party are gaining ground every where.

It has risen, they say, in New. Hampshire, notwithstanding every one of the present representatives to congress from that state are federalists, and the whole number to the next congress, who have been recently chosen, are republicans ! ! (Chronicle.)
