Jan. 28.--R. A. Weidner left Wednesday for St. Paul where he will attend the Fairway convention.
Grandpa Chladek is reported seriously ill at the Frank Chladek home.
Joyce Roberts is absent from school on account of illness.
Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Judd of Hawick visited at the Wm. Hanson home Wednesday evening.
A number from here attended the card party Wednesday evening given in the Catholic church basement at Paynesville.
Those entertained at whist at the R. R. Sporleder home Thursday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wendlandt and son Arthur, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Roberts, Mrs. H. C. Weidner, Phil Weidner and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hanson. Wm. Hanson won head prize and S. L. Roberts low. Lunch was served at twelve.
W. J. Weidner and Art Brunner were Atwater callers Sunday.
Bud Rooney of Brooten is visiting at the home of his sister Mrs. Ray Gulck and family.
Sympathy is extended to Mrs. John Butkowski in the loss of her father who passed away at his home in Lake Henry on Jan. 17. the funeral was held at that place on Monday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fangmeier, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hanson and Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Kruger visited at the S. L. Roberts home Tuesday evening of last week.
H. C. Weidner spent Friday in the Twin Cities.
Victor King visited at the Gust Sandin home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Weidner and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Wendlandt and family were dinner guests at the E. Harris home Sunday.
Those entertained at the Wm. Fangmeier home Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Kruger, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fangmeier and family, Melvin Hanson, Frank Ernst, Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Sporleder and Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Roberts and family. Whist was played at three tables. H. W. Kruger winning head prize and Mrs. Sporleder low. A delicious lunch was served at twelve.
The Farmers shipped stock to South St. Paul on Thursday.
A good crowd attended the dance here Monday night and a good time was had by all. Music was furnished by the Moonlight Serenaders.
Dorothy Harris is visiting at the John Harris home near Paynesville.
Mrs. Ray Gulck and children and Mrs. C. R. Judd visited with Mrs. S. L. Roberts Tuesday afternoon.
Art Brunner left Sunday for the Twin Cities to attend tractor school.
The annual meeting of the creamery was held at the Hall Tuesday afternoon. Ed Beier will haul the butter again for the coming year.
Rose Weidner is visiting with her sister Mrs. Joe Gottwald.
Some from here attended the funeral of Mrs. Jaeger at Lake Henry Tuesday morning.
Feb. 5.-Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Judd of Hawick and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hanson visited at the S. L. Roberts home on Thursday evening.
Geo. Harris is spending a few days at the home of his brother, Ernest and family.
Art Brunner returned home Friday from Minneapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Sporleder visited at the Gust Haskie home Sunday evening.
Mrs. W. J. Weidner, Viola Toemmes and Miss Thelma Kleven visited at the Toemmes home Sunday.
Mrs. H. C. Weidner and Mrs. Art Brunner received word Sunday from Thief River Falls of the death of their brother's wife. They left on the Winnipeg Sunday night to be in attendance at the funeral on Tuesday.

The little Misses Lorraine, Doris and Lucille Weidner are spending a few days at the Ed Wendlandt home.
Mrs. Hillie Brunner and daughter visited at the Art Brunners one day last week.
Phil Weidner was a business caller in Paynesville Monday.
Noble Johnson of Belgrade was a Regal visitor Monday.
Relatives from a distance that came to attend the funeral of Francis Chladek were Joseph C. Chladek of Mt. Horeb, Wis.; John C. Chladek of Madison, Wis; Ven. Sister M. Hildebertha, O. S. F., of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Anna Pustina and daughter and son, of Highland, Wis.
H. C. Weidner spent Tuesday in the twin cities.
