JAMAICA.

Kingston, July 8. A gentleman lately from Georgia informs us, that the honest gentry of that state have found out a method of paying their debts, which he hopes will not be adopted by the neighbouring provinces.--A Mr. Duncan in Savannah credited some of the planters to the amount of 2000l. sterling, and thinking he had a right, after a long time had elapsed, to demand a return for his merchandise, applied in person for the needful, when instead of receiving rice or lumber, as promised, payment of a different kind was forced on him, viz. the oil of hickory on his back and shoulders!
