Full Text

Dresden, August 21. In the night of the 16th instant the Austrians made an attempt to take possession of the hills at Kohlberg, near Pirna; a post which would have been very advantageous for them, because from thence they might have distinguished all the dispositions made by the Prussians in their camp at Dippoldswalde; but Prince Henry having timely notice of their design, sent two regiments of horse to reinforce that post, and behind them erected a battery of field pieces. Towards 11 o'clock a body of about 2000 Croats attacked these hills with great vigour, which was obliged to retire, after losing near 300 men, most of which were taken off by the masked battery belonging to the Prussians, who have since fortified that post in such a manner, with grenadiers and artillery, that the Austrians have made no further attempt to become masters of it.
