Las Cruces, N. M., Jan. 20.—Dr. H. L. Kent, president of the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, announces that the library has received the first interest from the class fund of the class of 1920. This money has been expended for literary books, in accordance with the terms of the gift of the class. The books purchased this year were in the field of literature.
Members of the class of 1920 when they graduated, deposited their class fund on time deposit, with the provision that the income was to be turned over each year to the librarian for the purchase of library books. Books purchased from this fund bear a book plate showing they were donated by the class of 1920, and giving the names of the members of the class.
This is one of a number of gifts of books this year to the College library, which is one of the largest in the state and is widely used as a general reference library.
The area of Cuba is about equal to that of the state of Pennsylvania.
