POSTMASTER ARRESTED,

Charges of Stealing Registered Letters Made Against G. G. Boggs.

Shawnee, Ok., April 9—George G. Boggs, postmaster at Shawnee, was indicted by the United States grand jury today on seven counts on the charge of rifling the United States mails of registered letters. He was arrested at once and gave bond in the sum of $5,000. This arrest created a great sensation, owing to Mr. Boggs' social and business standing. He was appointed postmaster last summer by Governor Barnes after a spirited contest. Mr. Boggs has a wife and one child. He came to Oklahoma from Blair, Neb.
