Other Leaders Hold Their Own--Interest Becoming Intense
Since yesterday's count Miss Annie Hattie of Kohala has increased her votes by 22,000, and now leads her district. However, there are half a dozen other girls all within striking distance whose friends declare that a surprise will be sprung on her competitors. Even the Contest Manager does not see the end, as a few yearly subscriptions, if turned in before next Wednesday, will make a material change in the standing of any one of the contestants.
Those who have already given in small subscriptions have in many instances become so interested in watching the struggle for their favorite that they have extended their subscriptions, which count the same as if they had not already subscribed.
Remember that the little coupons will not be counted if voted after next Wednesday.
No More Coupons
The little coupon which has played an important part since the beginning of the contest will be conspicuous by its absence after the 10th. This coupon appears in this issue of the Bulletin, but will not appear again, but all coupons bearing date of Wednesday, March 10th, must be deposited on Wednesday and published in Thursday's issue of the Bulletin.
All deposited after that date will be thrown out.
Remember, the triple-vote offer has only a few more days to run, and after that votes count only two-thirds their present value.
58,000 Votes!
Remember that five single one-year subscriptions will count you the same as a single five-year subscription and it will also count you a club of five-year subscriptions, which will net you 58,000 votes, providing they are NEW, and if they happen to be old subscriptions they will count you 30,000 votes. Subscribe for someone today, while the votes count triple, as the last five days of the contest subscriptions will only count you one-third their present value in votes -and votes are the necessary credentials by which to win a free trip to Seattle, which will be the mecca of the journey for five young women of your choice.
Positively the Last and Best.
The most munificent offer yet made by the Bulletin, is made now.
The offer becomes effective at once and continues until Wednesday March 10th. This is the offer: For each subscription turned in to the Bulletin office, between now and Wednesday March 10th, three votes will be given for one before or in other words the regular scale of voting will be tripled.
10,000 free votes will be issued to each contestant turning in ten NEW six months' subscriptions before Wednesday March 10th. Two six months' subscriptions will count the same as one yearly subscription or a five year subscription to the daily will count as one club; you don't have to turn them all in at the same time in order to receive the special 10,000 ballot, but each subscription turned in singly will receive triple votes for same, and when you have completed your club of ten, you will receive the special ballot.
Please don't forget that the special triple offer closes Wednesday March 10th and it will not be repeated, but positively closes on that date and the last five days of the contest, votes will only count single or one third their present value. You don't have to cast the ballots issued on subscriptions, until the close of the contest, but you should turn in all your subscriptions now and receive the votes for same and you will receive the triple vote for same, but don't wait for something better as this is positively the last and best that will be offered and positively closes on March 10th.
There is not a great difference in the standing of the leading contestants at the present time and now that the triple vote offer is in effect, will necessitate the recanvass of the entire field and ask those who only gave you a small subscription, to increase their subscription and give you the benefit of the triple vote offer.
Don't forget, all votes count triple until the 10th. and then - they only count single from the 10th to the close, which is the 15th of March at 8 o'clock P. M.
SPECIAL NOTICE
SUBSCRIBERS SENDING IN SUBSCRIPTIONS TO THE BULLETIN, MUST ALWAYS MENTION THE NAME OF THE CONTESTANTS THEY WISH TO VOTE FOR, AS ALL BALLOTS ARE FILLED OUT IN FULL BEFORE LEAVING OFFICE. YOU CAN HOLD BACK THE BALLOTS AS LONG AS YOU WISH.
Do It Now.
Contest Closes March 15th, 8 P. M.
Monday, March the fifteenth is the time set for the close of the contest and all votes and subscriptions MUST be in the Bulletin office on that date. The closing hour will be at 8 o'clock p. m. on March 15, and those depending on the mails to bring their subscriptions to the Bulletin office must have all votes and subscriptions in the ballot box before 8 o'clock p. m. on that date. The Judges for the final count of the ballots will be chosen from prominent business men of Honolulu; their names will be announced in due season. Each contestant will have the right to select a friend or relative to represent her and look after her interests during the final count of the ballots. An alarm clock will be used to signal the closing hour, which will be at 8 o'clock p. m. sharp, March 15th. When the alarm sounds the judges will take charge of the ballot box and when all in the office at that hour are waited upon, the box will be opened and the final count will commence. There will be no bidding for ballots, as there will positively be no money or subscriptions accepted after the ballot box is opened. No one will know how many votes each candidate has deposited, therefore, no one will know how many votes are required to win.
THE FIVE TRIPS WILL BE APPORTIONED AS FOLLOWS:
District No. 1 Includes the City and County of Honolulu.
District No. 2 includes the County of Hawaii.
District No. 3 includes the County of Maui.
