Full Text

Vienna, Sept. 1. The Emperor and Duke Charles of Lorrain being a Hunting, the 26th of last Month, in the Neighbourhood of Hollitch, a most dreadful Storm arose, accompanied with Hail of so large a Size, that most of his Imperial Majesty's Attendants were hurt thereby. The Emperor had but just Time enough to reach the Calash; but Prince Charles, before he could make up to it, was pretty well bruised by the Hail, which drove directly in his Face. The Postillion that rode on the fore Horse of the Calash was so stunned with the Hail, that he dropped down in such a Condition as leaves but little Hopes of his Recovery. However, the other Attendants made shift to get the Calash forwards, and his Imperial Majesty, with Prince Charles, got safe at last to Hollitsch. Duke Charles is in very good Health, except the Marks the Hail left in his Face, which will wear out in a few Days. After this Storm was over, there was found in the Forest of Hollitch so great a Quantity of Hares, Rabbits, Partridges, and other Game, killed by the Hail, that six Cart Loads of them were picked up.
