Couple Convicted In Fraud Case
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 16. (U.P.) - Harry A. Reese and Mrs. Flora Carter today were found guilty on 18 counts of conspiracy, grand theft and violation of the corporate securities act.
A jury delivered the verdict after deliberating 22 hours, as compared to 100 hours deliberation in a former trial.
Possible sentences of from 15 to 150 years in prison face the pair.
The two defendants were indicted as an outgrowth of their operation of the Virginia Dale silver mine through which they assertedly fleeced scores of investors out of several hundred thousand dollars.
They will be sentenced on Monday.
