Full Text

An Accident to an Indian Boy.

A Piute boy boarded train No.1 this morning at Mill City bound for Winnemucca, but before arriving here he met with a misfortune at Rose Creek, where he fell off, presumably while asleep out on the steps. His absence was noticed a little before the train arrived here, and upon its arrival, an Indian was dispatched to find the mangled remains of the boy, but instead the buck found a lively corpse sitting upright on the track smoking a cigarette and outside of a few scratches on its right arm the corpse was not a bit mangled. It seems that in some manner the relatives of the boy at Mill City were made aware of the accident and sent a telegram here to the effect that if the boy was alive they expected the return of the money for the sending of the telegram, but if he were dead it would be all right. The boy is alive, but whether the money was returned we don't know.
