We received this morning the Paris papers to the 25th instant. They are full of important intelligence.
On Saturday last Bonaparte repaired with extraordinary magnificence to the Senate, which held its first sitting in the form and manner established by the Organic Senatus Consultum. Several plans of Senatus Consulta, discussed in a Privy Council, were presented to the Senate. One of them relates to the selection of twenty principal cities of the Republic, the Mayors of which are to be present at the taking of the oath by the Citizen who should be named to succeed the First Consul. It may be inferred from this, that the successor will soon be declared. The Minister for Foreign affairs then read a report agreed by Russia and France, to be presented upon the indemnities and the declaration as to the Diet of Ratisbon.
This declaration contains a detailed and specific account of the particular indemnities to be granted to each of the German States. There are to be three new electors, the Margrave of Baden, Duke of Wirtemberg, and the Landgrave of Hesse Cassel. There is to be one Ecclesiastical Elector. The Bishopric of Osnaburg is to belong in perpetuity to the Elector of Hanover, if he abandons his pretensions to Hildesheim, Corvey and Hoxter, and other districts.
