Endurance Test.
Des Moines, May 30.—In the interests
of good roads and efficiency in auto-
mobile travel, members of the Iowa
Automobile Club are promoting a four
days' endurance run thru the central
portion of the state. The plans for
the tour will be brought up for con-
sideration at a meeting of the organi-
zation to be held at the Savery hotel
Tuesday at noon.
As planned the tour will leave Des
Moines on June 20 and, making a circle
of 450 miles, will return to Des Moines
on the night of June 23. Beautiful
trophy cups will be awarded to the
winners of the tour. All cars will be
eligible and will be divided into classes
for each of which a trophy cup will
be hung up.
According to the preliminary plans,
the route will follow the river-to-river
dragged road to Waukee. From there
the tourists will go to Spirit Lake by
way of Perry, Jefferson, Rockwell City,
Pocahontas, Emmetsburg and Spencer.
The return will be made thru Storm
Lake, Fort Dodge, Stanhope, Boone
and Des Moines.
