Grand Disruption of the Ohio Democracy.

Ohio Democracy is rent in twain. The anniversary of our National Independence was celebrated by the two factions of that once harmonious and unterrified body in distinct Declarations of their final separation and mutual hostility.

The "regular Convention was comparatively thinly attended. Its nomination "went a begging Utter hopelessness was the pervading tone of all its proceedings, diversified by the exhibition of an implacable animosity against Breckinridge men, who were plainly told that they must surrender or leave. The crisis was thus defiantly precipitated, and the self-styled "Nationals accepted the issue.

The nice scheme of offering Judge S wan a nomination which he would have spurned, failed of receiving any great support. No one dared to broach the (at one time) proposed coalition with the Nationals on an Electoral ticket.

The Douglasites indorsed their Slave-Code Disunion candidate for Vice President, along with the Squatter-Sovereign Douglas; accepted the Rump platform, with Wickliffe's "40,000 votes at- tachment, in the shape of the Dred Scott decision and Congressional protection to Slavery in the Territories; and resolved various unkind things about the Republican party, whose thunder they are trying to steal.

On the whole, the Douglasites cut a very sorry figure, and though having the regular organization, must be ceded to be rather the most forlorn specimen of the Democratic party that has ever undertaken to make an effort in Ohio.

We have likewise a full report of the doings of the "Nationals whose movement has assumed altogether more formidable proportions than were generally anticipated. A large number of the shrewdest and ablest Democratic politicians of this State have enlisted on that side for the war. They are looking to the future, when, should the Democracy ever revive and become a power again in the country, there is no question that their standing will be vastly better than if they had embarked in the mad adventure which has turned the heads of the Douglasites.

The "National" organization is to be carried into all the elections, large and small, and will far more evenly divide the Democracy of this State than the Douglasites now imagine.

An address will soon be issued and a State Convention called, to nominate State and Electoral tickets, and to perfect an organization extending into all the counties and Congressional districts.

A glance at the names of those who are leading in this movement will convince the most skeptical that this is not only in earnest, but will be most efficient and influential, if it is not even stronger than the Douglas faction.

The present is a most appropriate time for all thinking men, who really prefer free institutions to slavery, who are opposed to the domination of the slave power and disgusted with Democratic corruptions yet who have adhered to the Democracy in the faith that it was not past redemption to come out and join the only live party that on which the hopes of the country rest-by giving a cordial support to those true National Republicans and Democrats of the old school, Lincoln and Hamlin.
