Florida Indians.—It appears from a Congressional document recently published, that $26,707 have been paid to 22 different chiefs of the Florida Indians, to induce them to emigrate. Nine hundred and forty common Indians—men, women and children—also came in for money; and the general sum paid to these is $30 each; a few are set down at $5, which were probably children.

The result of the whole is that nearly $115,000, in addition to expenditures for the troops, has been expended in direct applications of money to the Florida Indians.
