Event Details
Twenty-five students voluntarily united under a written constitution for a regular system of mechanical labor. They obtained a professed mechanic as superintendent to build up the work-shop with necessary apparatus. The association divided into two companies, each laboring half an hour before meals every day except Saturday when they labor but twice note tardiness and absence. The work is laid out disposes of the articles manufactured. The result has thus far been highly satisfactory.
