Full Text

At the Methodist church last Sunday morning, Rev. Knuckey preached a fine sermon on "The Vine and the Branches." In the evening his discourse was upon "The Brazen Serpent." A very large congregation was present and it was deeply impressed with the presentation of the subject. Rev. Knuckey displays deep thought in his sermons, and the pertinent applications he makes from his texts enlighten his bearers and keep their earnest attention. At the evening service Miss Leta Smith sang a beautiful soprano solo in a manner which not only showed her fine voice to advantage, but also a tender feeling and expressiveness so often lacking in soloists. It is intended to make an effort to have others help out in the music, and something may be expected each Sunday evening in the nature of a solo or other special music.
