November 11. By a Person lately arrived from Lisbon, we are informed, that agreeable to the king's order, they had begun to dig for a foundation upon the old spot, which in some places towards the Tagus was crazy and rotten; and that some hundreds of dead bodies were dug out of the ruins in the month of September last; many of which, from some circumstances, are judged to have lain some time in the ruins before they expired; and that all the treasure found is obliged to be carried to a proper office within four hours, on pain of death.
