NEW-YORK, August 16.

On Wednesday last, at the sessions of this city, before his honor the Mayor,
Came on to be tried the following persons, charged with riotous and disorderly conduct, during the commencement at Trinity Church, the 7th instant, viz. Edward Ferris, Gulian C. Verplank, Hugh Maxwell, J. G. Stevenson, J. B. Stevenson, S. P. Berrian, and - Graham, (the latter plead guilty at the commencement of the trial.) At nine o'clock, P. M. the court adjourned to yesterday morning, when the trial was again resumed; and concluded in the afternoon; when the jury retired and brought in a verdict of Guilty. Charles Dickinson, jun. who was also indicted, was acquitted. The cause was ably handled on both sides. For the prosecution, Mr. Riker, attorney general - For the defendants, Messrs. Hoffman, R. B. Ogden, Jay, Maxwell, and Verplanck. Motions were made for a new trial, and an arrest of judgment-which will be argued on Saturday.

The court was excessively crowded, the trial having excited considerable interest.
