BRITISH COMMISSIONER DECEIVED.

Claim of Richards and Walker to British Citizenship Disproved.

San Francisco, May 28.—The steamship China from Honolulu, brings news up to May 20. The foreign office has completely disproved the claim of Richards and Walker that they are British subjects, and the British commissioner will report to the government that he was deceived by the statements of these men. Consequently there will be no occasion for British interference in the case. The government has made no movement towards appointing a successor to Mr. Thurston. The islands are kept in a state of uneasiness by constant reports of filibustering expeditions from the United States.
