Resolved, That the Street Commissioner be instructed to have the sewer on the north side of Wood street, between 15th and 16th streets, extended across the streets, so as to enter the main sewer northward in the centre of Main street, as the present one is too small and always stopped up. Referred to the committee on Streets and Alleys.

Resolved, That the Street Commissioner be instructed to place a new stone crossing across Wood street, on the north side of 16th street. Referred to the committee on Streets and Alleys.

Resolved, That the Street Commissioner take immediate steps to protect the mouth of the sewer leading from York street to the west river, as the same was never finished, and the iron grating has been stolen or carried away, and the sewer is in danger of being filled up by dirt, sticks and debris and ruined. Referred to the committee on Streets and Alleys.

Resolved, That the money paid by Mrs. G. Wilson and others for water pipe on North Front street, be refunded them. Referred to the committee on Streets and Alleys.

Resolved, That lamp posts be erected in the following places: On the corner of North Huron and Indiana streets; North Huron and Kentucky; and North Huron and New Jersey streets. Referred to the committee on Lights.

Resolved, That the Street commissioner be instructed to make a gutter on St. Charles street, so that the water will run west to Union street, and that he be instructed to do the work without delay. Adopted.

Resolved, That a gas post be placed at the corner of 21st street and alley B, Fifth ward. Referred to the committee on Lights.

On motion this Branch adjourned.

FIRST BRANCH.

At the regular monthly meeting of this Branch last night, the following gentlemen were present, the Mayor occupying the chair: Boring. Butterfield Wilson, Schambra, Shalleross. Todd. Wallace, Roberts, Stone, Blair, Hall and Cowan. The minutes were read and approved. The report of the Finance committee, with the resolutions to pay the monthly bills for October, amounting to $533.22 was read and concurred in. The report of the Superintendent of. and committee on Water Works, with the resolutions annexed, were read and concurred in. The report of the Committee on Real Estate, In relation to the improvement and repairing of the City Building. and moved that it be referred back to the committee to ascertain the cost of improving the whole building. The resolution ordering the fire plug to be removed from its present location, at the corner of Alley B and 24th street, to the opposite corner, was concurred in. The report and resolutions of the Committee on Lights were read and concurred in. The reports of the committee on Streets and Alleys, and the Street Commissioner, for the month of October, with the resolutions and recommendations attached. were read and the action of the Second Branch concurred in. The report of the committee on Streets and Alleys, in reference to the sewer at the head of St. Charles street, was read and referred back to the committee for report. On motion the resolution to run a gutter from St. Charles street west to Union street, was also referred to the committee on Streets and Alleys for report. The report of the committee on Fire Department and Chief Fire Marshal's report, with the resolutions annexed, were read and concurred in. The report of the Board of Control of Fire Department, was concurred in. The report of the joint committee in relation to increasing the salary of the Chief Fire Marshal and fixing his duties, was read and the second resolution amended so as to strike out the words, "on ordinances." and substitute "fire department.' The report and resolution of the joint special committee on grading and improving Main street between 10th and 12th, were read and the action of the Second Branch concurred in. The resolution for the payment of the bill of Lawrence Clark for $270.00 less 20 per cent., was concurred in. On motion the First Branch adjourned.
