HAS ENOUGH OF AMERICA.
Pole, Just Two Weeks Over, Sees Vision of Wealth Vanish.
PITTSBURG, May 29. - Landing in this country from Poland just two weeks ago with dreams of a golden future, a man who is carried on the blotter of No. 7 police station as John Hebrew, was arrested at the corner of South Eighteenth and Mary Streets by Ordinance Officer M. Greiner on a charge of peddling without a license.
He told Sergeant Edward Jacobs that until yesterday morning he had been an interpreter. The man was given 20 brooms to sell, upon each of which he was to receive a commission of five cents. He said he had walked all day and had not succeeded in making a sale.
"Hebrew" said he had lost faith in the "golden country" and is going home at the first opportunity.
