Caused a Stampede.
A small stampede took place from Grangeville, Idaho, last week to a reported strike on some ledges about two and one half miles south of the town where work has been in progress all winter. A four foot vein assaying $86 was struck 16 feet below the surface. A few days later a 20 foot ledge assaying $23 across it was uncovered some hundreds of feet from the first discovery. When the news came a rush started from here, and a number who received the news first were out at night staking claims. The whole country to the top of Ore mountain has been staked out.
