Nor claymores to defend it.
The land o' cakes will still be ours,
The hills where aspens quiver;
Her dailied dells, and heather bells,
Forever, and forever.
But though within our heart o' hearts
Auld Scotia reigns sae dearly,
There is anither land that we
Love truly and sincerely.
America, we're here,
And pray may God attend it.
And may it ne'er want bright claymores
Nor Scotsmen to defend it.
The land o' cakes will still be ours,
The hills where aspens quiver:
Auld Scotia and America young,
Forever, and forever.
We love ilk honest, manly Scot
That wears the Thistle o'er:
We'll aye respect the 'Bonnie Blue,
That guard the Yankee border,
And honored be the starry flag,
And pray may God attend it:
Auld Scotia's sons ha'e foremost been
Wi' claymores to defend it.
The land o' cakes will still be ours
The hills where aspens quiver;
America and Liberty,
And Scotia, aye, forever.
