The Honourable Thomas Johnson, Jun. Esq. Governour of Maryland.
His Excellency Patrick Henry has issued a Proclamation, dated the 15th instant, by the advice of his Council of State, strictly enjoining and requiring all natives of Great Britain, who were British factors, agents, merchants, factors, or clerks in their employ, for any merchant or from Great Britain, on the 6th day of 1776, the time the act of the British Parliament for restraining the trade of America and seizing our property first took place, to depart the country with their goods, within such time of the said service as shall be manifested a friendly disposition to the American cause, or are attached to a resolution of the colony by having wife or children here &c. in the mean time they have liberty to dispose of their.
