Something New and Novel Will Soon be Presented.
FROM ST. AUGUSTINE SCHOOL
The Quartette of the School For the Blind, Deaf and Dumb, Which is Now Touring the State, Will Appear in Gainesville Early in June.
Gainesville is to be favored within the next few days with most novel entertainment, which will be nothing more than a musicale to be given under the auspices of the Florida State School for the Deaf, Dumb and Blind at St. Augustine, of which Prof. Wm. B. Hare is superintendent.
This entertainment, which will be of a vocal and instrumental nature, will be given under direction of Prof. R. L. Parke, and the proceeds will go towards the benefit of the institution.
The motive in this entertainment is also to bring the school into notice, thereby increasing public interest in the school.
This will be a rare opportunity for our people to learn something regarding the mysterious ways in which the blind are educated.
The program, consisting of choice musical selections from the greatest masters, will be interspersed with reading and vocal music.
The quartette is now touring the State and will appear in Gainesville early in June. Further particulars will be given later.
