POLITICAL SOMERSAETS.

Speaking of these things, we would take occasion to say to the Editor of the Star that charity begins at home. He has turned more political somersets than all the Editors now upon the board; and what makes it so much the worse for him is, he splits the spring board every time he falls. The reason for this splitting of the spring-board, it is shrewdly suspected, is to be found in the fact that he goes to sleep while he is up, and so falls the wrong way. The Editor is most awfully addicted to political naps.

As an instance of this we state the fact that he went to sleep some time since; woke up week before last; and, by way of astonishing the world, discovered that Gen. Washington had, in the course of his administration, signed a bill chartering a National Bank!
