Full Text

Much has been said about the cost of the Chandelier which lately fell and was broken in the Chamber of the House of Representatives. Some say it cost 1300 dollars; some that it cost three, four, or five thousand dollars. It is not a matter of much importance, but, being a subject of observation, it is well to state the fact, that the cost was an hundred and fifty pounds sterling, and no more. We hope, if replaced at all, that the Boston manufacturers will be gratified in their wish to furnish one of glass in lieu of that one of metal, which is demolished.
