In recent years, this unsavory district has undergone a marked improvement. To-day it compares favorably with similar quarters of other great cities and most of this improvement is due to the celebrated Five Points Mission and its army of Christian workers. This excellent organization has performed and is performing a great and noble work.
One of the greatest works of the mission is to minister to the sick and it is a work that has been highly successful. And yet the officers of the mission have been enabled to combat a great amount of sickness and afford many critical cases with the one standard remedy. It is, a remedy well known to the profession and one that has been prescribed by many eminent physicians.
