BALTIMORE, April 9

Extract of a letter from Fredericksburg, to a gentleman in Baltimore, dated April 4.

"A most tremendous fire broke out last night in this place, about 8 o'clock, nearly opposite the post-office, which in a few hours turned out of their dwellings upwards of 150 families. It presented a scene of awfulness, which I have never seen exceeded any where.
