Remarkable natural Production.—We had, yesterday, an opportunity of inspecting a very remarkable monster. It was nothing less than a tarrapin with two bodies, eight legs, two tails, two heads, and one neck. We hardly know whether to call this production one or two animals. The bodies are perfectly distinct, except at the point of junction at the breast bone, and the two heads possess but one neck. We are under the impression, after a very minute examination, that it would be impossible to separate without destroying these animals. From the position in which the bodies are placed, (being breast to breast.) their movements must necessarily be confined to the water, as the feet cannot be brought in contact with the ground. We understand that this production has been presented to Dr. Ravenel, who, no doubt, will give a more minute description of it. We would suggest the propriety of preserving these animals alive, if possible, until they shall have attained their full growth. This will afford an opportunity of watching their habits and movements. Should they die, however, before that period, dissection will develope the nature of the connection, and determine whether the animals are supplied with a distinct set of vessels and nerves, or whether they are common to both.—Charleston Patriot.
