REPUBLICAN STATE TICKET IS SUCCESSFUL IN SOUTH DAKOTA.
PLURALITY IS OVER 30,000
LEGISLATURE WILL BE COMPOSED OF 117 REPUBLICANS ON JOINT BALLOT.

Governor—Coe I. Crawford, Huron.
Congress—Philo Hall, Brookings; Col. W. H. Parker, Deadwood.
Lieutenant Governor—H. C. Shober, Highmore.
Secretary of State—D. D. Wipf, Olivet.
Auditor—John Herning, Herreid.
Treasurer—C. H. Cassill, Canton.
Attorney General—S. W. Clark, Redfield.
Superintendent—Hans A. Ustrud, Sioux Falls.
Commissioner of School Lands—O. C. Dokken, Clear Lake.
Railroad Commissioner—George Rice, Flandreau.

The election last Tuesday resulted in the success of the Republican ticket. The returns are incomplete, but thirty-nine counties out of fifty-two give Crawford a majority of 25,750. At Republican headquarters it is claimed that when the returns are all in Crawford's majority will be in excess of 32,000.

South Dakota will be represented in the Sixtieth congress by two new men, Philo Hall of Brookings and Col. W. H. Parker of Deadwood, both Republicans, being winners by safe majorities.

Complete returns in the legislative vote show that the Republicans elected thirty-six members of the state senate; Independent Republicans and Democrats, seven. House—Republicans, 81; Democrats, 8.

The following are the returns by counties:

McCook—Complete returns from McCook county give the Democrats state senator, together with five of the county offices, while the Republicans elect the two representatives and five of the county officers.

Beadle—Crawford carried this county by 500. The Republican ticket was elected.

Hughes—Crawford carries this county by 500. Returns so far received from Stanley and Lyman counties indicate the election of Rowe, Dem., for senator, and Rood, Rep.

Yankton—Yankton county goes Republican on the state ticket by about 375 majority. Crawford winning over Stransky by these figures.

Hanson—The official returns show every candidate of the Democratic county and state ticket elected by majorities ranging from 25 to 100 or more. Coe I. Crawford's majority is less than 50.

Brule—Brule elected the Democratic ticket with the exception of Judge.

Kingsbury—The county will give a large Republican majority and all the officers will be Republicans, with the possible exception of sheriff, which will be very close.

Lincoln—The entire Republican county ticket was elected without opposition with the exception of senator. The Republican state ticket has a large majority.

Turner—It is estimated that Turner county has gone for Crawford by 900. The Republican legislative and county ticket has carried by a stronger majority.

Meade—Crawford will carry Sturgis by 75 majority; Meade county by 250. Complete returns will not be available for several days. The fight on the county ticket is close. Republicans will elect majority of the ticket.

Lawrence—Lawrence county gave 1,500 majority for the Republican state ticket and elected the Republican legislative ticket.

Grant—Entire Republican legislative and county ticket elected by 600 majority.

Spink—Spink county went four to one Republican.

Union—Union county has elected the entire Republican ticket. Coe I. Crawford has 500 majority.

Codington—Codington county complete returns give Crawford, for governor, 1,450; Stransky, 350.

Davison—The entire Republican ticket in Davison county was elected, with the exception of Thomas Fuller ton, the candidate for the senate.

Bon Homme—Bon Homme county Democrats elected J. P. Cooley senator, V. F. Kreycik auditor, Mat McCormick register of deeds, Louis Koenig sheriff.

Buffalo—The Republicans carried Buffalo county by 40 majority, except state's attorney.
