GEORGIA CATHOLICS ENDORSE
WILSON; PLEDGE TO SUPPORT
NATION'S WAR ON GERMANY
AUGUSTA, Ga., April 7.-President
Wilson's course in declaring that a
state of war with Germany exists has
been commended by the Catholics of
Georgia through their Laymen's asso-
ciation. In a telegram to President
Wilson sent by the officers after a ref-
erendum, the 15,000 Catholics in the
state of Georgia declare themselves as
endorsing, not only what he has done
so far, but whatever he may do to
uphold American prestige.
The telegram follows:
"In behalf of the Catholic Laymen
of Georgia, we endorse without quali-
fication the measures you have taken
and will uphold the sacred honor of
our country."
