U. of Wash. Will
Give Brief Talk
A brief address which should be
received with considerable interest
by local residents and others, is
scheduled to be heard in the Seward
High School Auditorium next
Monday morning, beginning at 8
o'clock.
Dr. Bolton, Dean Emeritus of the
University of Washington, will arrive in Seward this evening from
the Interior and will make a brief
talk before the departure of the
SS Alaska for the south.
Dr. Bolton represents the Northwestern Association of Secondary
and High Schools and is in Alaska
in this connection. The advantage
of such an affiliation, by the Seward
High School, is that Northwestern
represents an organization
of universities and colleges in six
States and Alaska, and would permit Seward graduates entrance
without examination.
In turn Northwestern is affiliated
with the North Central Association
and of institutions of learning
in 20 additional States. At the
present time Seward graduates are
eligible only to the University of
Washington.
Superintendent Glenn Rogers is
of the opinion that the talk will
not last more than 15 or 20 minutes and will appreciate the attendance of all parents or others
interested.
