Specifically, it includes superior court judge Alfred E. Paonessa, a Catholic; author Jerome Shiel, a Jew; Sec. W. J. Bassett of the Central Labor Council, a Protestant; state Rep. C. Augustus Hawkins, a Negro; and Jack Kennedy, a businessman.
