We have no objections whatever to publishing the strictures of Peter Pegasus. They will appear in our next.
A very ingenious poetical enumeration of the books of the bible is received for next week's poetical department. We can with safety bespeak for it the praise of every reader.
A two or three column essay on astronomy or something else is received. We have only had time to look over the beginning of it; and from that, we are inclined to think it wont do.
Mr. Curry's mathematical solution is unavoidably deferred.
The lines in our Muses' Court breathe a spirit of purity, tenderness and resignation that cannot fail to reach the heart. The writer, whom we strongly suspect to be a lady, informs us in a private note that the subject is by no means fictitious. " At this season of the year, (she adds) there are many husbands who resort to the fashionable watering places on the most trivial pretexts; where, yielding to the temptations of voluptuousness, they disregard the endearments of home, and consummate their profliga-
