Everyone is listening and looking to see who is the most popular girl of '45 after the musical contest which will end on the 28th. The contestants are Miss Viola Mae Anderson and Miss Leola Johnson of the senior class.

The senior class is in sympathy with one of our classmates, Miss Lula Mae Blackmon after the death of her uncle, Mr. Lee Blackmon, who died at Sunflower. His funeral was attended by the Rev. N. B. Jackson.

We are still buying bonds and stamps, paper and scraps to capture the Japs.

The contestants in the 5th grade are really working together.

The 5th grade B class gave their teacher a lovely box of candy for valentine.

The eighth grade A gave Miss Hoard (their teacher) a nice box of candy to show that they were thinking of her on St. Valentine's day.

Mrs. Donnie M. Bell of Canton is the guest of Mrs. Maggie Williams of Farmhaven.

The Excelsior Literary Club was highly entertained at the home of Mrs. Wilson. The hostesses were Mrs. Wilson and Miss Brooks. Members present were: Misses Ruth
