Never, says a paper, printed at Frankfort, Kentucky—Never did the tide of emigration set more strongly to the south and west than during the present season. We not only witness the current continually passing by us accumulating as it rolls on, but hear of the astonishing effects produced in the lately savage wilderness. In the Missouri and Illinois, settlements are rapidly extending, and in the Alabama, St. Stephens & the town of Blakely have opened new sources of wealth and commerce. In the former ships navigate the Mobile, and to the latter place a steam boat is already building. Two ships have commenced a trade from the city of New-York. The time is not far distant when these three territories will add as many new stars to our constellation of free states.
