In addition to the re-election of Chairman Holman and Attorney Taylor, mentioned yesterday, the quarterly court yesterday chose the following: James Reilly, public administrator, with a bond of $50,000. His opponents were, R. D. Frayser, who received 9 votes and J. W. Hampton 5 votes. 'Squire C. E. Smith was chosen superintendent of the pest-house and Dr. Charles Baskerville as physician; salary of the latter $400 per annum. Esquires J. D. Hines, J. T. Elliott and G. R. Egnew were elected jail inspectors: Jno. A. Powel, grand jury constable; Jno. Blackwell, Bartlett grand jury constable. The resignation of Esquire W. H. Walker, on account of ill health, was accepted; also that of Constable G. Acres, of the Eighth civil district. Mr. L. M. Bell was appointed in place of the latter. Mr. Burchard Douglas was appointed constable of the 12th Civil district, in place of Mr. Jackson. A banquet was given to the 'squires at Gaston's after the close of the forenoon session, the fortunate office-seekers paying the expense.
