The Chevalier de Rucas, the famous Painter of the North, is now at Potidam, by Order of his Prussian Majesty, drawing the Pictures of all the Royal Family, in which he succeeds with the universal Applause of the Court. He is lately come thither from Brunswick-Wolfenbuttle, where he gain'd great Reputation by his Pieces, and especially by the Portrait of the late Duke; whom tho' he had never seen, and only drew him from the Representations given to him of his Person by other People; yet he has taken his Likeness so much to the Life, that the Duchess Dowager could not forbear shedding Tears, as soon as ever she saw it, and made him a Present of a Purse of 30 Ducats.
