Raw Fish Tax For 1960
Estimated at $1,746,343
JUNEAU (P) - Alaska's share of the 1960 salmon pack, through the Raw Fish Tax, will amount to approximately $1,746,343, the State Department of Revenue estimated today.
The exact figure won't be known until late March or early April, when all raw fish taxes will have been collected.
The estimate would place the year 1960 in seventh place in the amount of raw fish taxes collected by the state annually during the 10 years starting in 1951.
The department said the estimate was made by using the 1959 price schedule and the preliminary pack figures for 1960. It appears, the department said, that the average wholesale price for 1960, on which the tax is based, will be about the same as the 1959 figure, approximately $23 a case.
