NASHVILLE (ANP)-An impressive list of men outstanding in the field of education will take part in the 75th anniversary celebration of the opening of Fisk university, to be held here April 29 through May 4.
Such distinguished persons as Dr. Perry Miller, Harvard university, Sterling Brown, Howard university, and Dr. W. E. B. DuBois, Atlanta university, will discuss present literary trends. In the social science seminars papers and discussions will be given by Dr. Bronislaw Malinowski, London School of Economics and Yale University; Dr. Robert Redfield University of Chicago; Dr. H. Scudder Mekeel, University of Wisconsin; Dr. Louis Wirth, University of Chicago, and Edwin R. Embree, Julius Rosenwald fund
Other speakers and guest lecturers include Dr. William Heard Kilpatrick, Columbia university; Fred L. Brownlee, Le Moyne college president; Dr. Benjamin Mays, president of Morehouse college, and John D. Rockefeller, Jr. The convocation address is to be delivered by Dr. Frank P. Graham, president of the University of North Carolina.
Guest artist for the celebration is Roland Hayes, celebrated tenor who received his Mus. D. from Fisk in 1932. At the final meeting of the week, the university church service, Dr. Paul B. Kern, bishop of the Methodist church, is to be the guest minister. At this service the university choir will sing an anthem "The Singers", especially composed for the occasion by John W. Work of the department of music.
