Railroad Accident. Ten or Twelve Killed.

The Rock Island Advertiser reports a grand smash-up on the Mississippi Railroad, just beyond the junction of the Muscatine branch, about 20 miles west of Davenport.

The express train of Wednesday evening, for Iowa City, had run off the track at that point, and it is said that ten or twelve persons were killed. The entire train, consisting of locomotive, baggage and four passenger cars, is said to have run off while under full headway, causing also a great destruction of property.
