MARTIN'S TEACHERS MEET SATURDAY ALL SCHOOLS OPEN 11TH
Expect 2,500 To Begin Eight Months Grind Eighth Grade Register Friday.
Plans for the opening of all schools in the Marion city administrative unit have been completed according to announcements from the superintendent's office. Next Monday morning at nine o'clock will see approximately twenty-five hundred school children in Marion and vicinity starting back to school after four months of vacation. According to last year's figures over two thousand of these will be in the elementary grades.
Pupils taking eighth grade work this year are expected to register for their courses at the high school building Friday morning of this week at nine o'clock. Last year there were well over a hundred and fifty pupils in the eighth grade and since there was a smaller percentage of failures in this grade last year than in previous years it is expected that the number of freshmen will be somewhat diminished this year over last.
The first general teachers meeting of the year will be held in the high school auditorium Saturday morning at ten o'clock and notices have been mailed to all teachers in the system to be present.
Individual school meetings will be held, in most instances, on Saturday afternoon of the same day.
