The Mexican spy company that brought the despatches from Gen. Scott number one hundred, and are under the command of Col. Bomangest. They started from Puebla on the evening of the 14th ult. and were attacked during that night by Torrejon with a large force, and shortly after by Col. Vam os. Their loss in the two engagements was but fifteen, while they killed upwards of one hundred and fifty of the attacking parties. Gen. Scott is said to have at least four hundred and fifty of these Mexican spies in his command. Paredes says that "Santa Anna issued orders for his (Paredes) arrest or imprisonment or expulsion from the country, but that the officer entrusted with the order was too sensible to execute it."
