THE PURE FOOD CONGRESS.—The second session of the National Pure Food and Drug Congress was called to order in the lecture hall of the Columbian University, Washington, yesterday afternoon. On the platform were Secretary Brigham, of the Agriculture Department; Hon. John B. Wight, commissioner of the District of Columbia; Mr. Frank Hume, Recording Secretary Wedderburn, and W. S. Thompson. Several members, including Mr. Hume, made addresses in the interest of the pure food movement, and some interesting papers were read.
