GREENE AND LENOIR.

We learn that a meeting of the Democratic Republicans of Greene and Lenoir was lately held at Kinston, to nominate a Democratic Candidate to run as Senator against James Harper, the present incumbent. Maj. William Dixon, of Greene county was the person selected, who is a sterling democrat, and his success next August is considered certain. A correspondent observes: "Harper, I think, with old granny Harrison on his back, together with his Rayner Caucus vote, must die a political death; for if it be true, as I see it stated, that Harrison did agree to sell poor men for their debts, his chance will be leaner than a summer Fox, (as the saying is.) As to Judge Saunders' nomination, we are highly pleased with it, and the more the 'whigs' canvass his claims the better we like him."
